English: The national language of India in disguise

Many times during childhood days you must be asked the question : Which Language is the national language of India?
And the obvious answer you must have given is Hindi.
But think a little, Is it true ???

When we visit any market place or anywhere across India, may be a small village or a metropolis, you wont find a shop with no English names. Name in Hindi may be present or may not be( present in 5% cases), but you surely would find the name in English.
This signifies the definite acceptance of English as a language more closure to Indian hearts than Hindi.
The South Indian people must be happy about this, as they always wanted to have English as the National Language of India. Though it didn't happened in the Constitution but certainly happened in the hearts of Indian Masses.
It doesn't mean that we should not write in English or English is a bad language, but we should at least place Hindi which is our own language at the same height. A name in Hindi on a shop along with English can make a lot difference in the heart of the people. At least one can think that he/she is living on her own motherland, not on any foreign land.

Its not a big thing to put a name in Hindi at all, but these small things together make a big impact on the mind of people and which can result in a great level of patriotism, which is gradually vanishing from the hearts of Indian youth, which is always driven towards the west.

This ends my small expression of thoughts.
Comments are always welcome.
